《范海辛的惊奇之旅2》是一款充满哥特蒸汽庞克风格的动作RPG续作。购买了前作的玩家将可以把前作的角色转移到新作中。符石制造是游戏中新加入的制造方式。通过这种方式玩家可以制造很多不同的物品。加入符石制造的目的是让玩家在游戏通关以后还有更多的可玩内容。符石制造将使用碎片系统。玩家可以通过免费分解物品来获得碎片。获得碎片的多少取决于分解物品的稀有度。碎片将单独被储存。游戏中的物品都有两种不同种类的碎片，基础碎片和附魔碎片。玩家需要收集10块不同种类的碎片来把他们变成一个附魔或者一个大师级符石。
转换符石的时候将使用游戏中的金币。一个简单容易的操作界面将指导玩家轻松的进行符文制作。大师级符文可以解锁附魔槽。你也可以解锁暴击和其他属性的插槽。系统会将玩家的物品变得独一无二。玩家还可以使用符石来堆同一属性。符石制造并不是必须的。游戏中你需要完成一个任务来开启这些选项。
