《德军总部：新秩序》是由MachineGames工作室全权负责研发的，该工作室的成员都是在业界赫赫有名的，除了来自于原来Starbreeze团队的雇员以外，还有第一人称射击游戏《星际迷航》的幕后研发人员。
在游戏中，玩家将扮演一个美国大兵B.J. Blazkowicz，这位英雄将要接受一个艰巨的任务，去发动一场“无可反抗的进攻”，以反抗黑暗的纳粹军团，在游戏世界里，德军早已统一了全世界，玩家需要在重重困难下完成这个艰巨的任务。此外，欧洲战场的设定十分特殊，玩家可以混进纳粹军内部，并通过各种方法抢占军事据点，一旦玩家成功占据了某些要塞，还将获得一些超级武器的使用权，而这些超级武器，原本是纳粹军用来征服地球的工具。
