在这款游戏中，玩家将从不同的种族中挑选一队，与其他的种族进行对抗。很显然兽人和高等精灵在战术上并不相同，而高等精灵也不会采用矮人们愿意使用的策略。不同种族间风格的差别使得这款橄榄球主题战棋游戏玩法相当多样。

《怒火橄榄球2》最具特色的是体育场的精英，玩家可以通过单人和多人模式中积攒的资源为自己的体育场进行升级、增添设施。玩家的体育场将从最基本的训练场地成长为全宇宙观众关注的焦点。同时场馆建设对游戏的血腥竞技风格也会起到极强的气氛烘托效果。玩家可以强势入侵其他人的体育场，砸场子。

这款游戏将在22日发售，登陆的平台为PS4，Xbox One以及PC。
