模拟城市5经典的模拟城市系列游戏第五作，也称作模拟城市2013。这款《模拟城市》新作将会强调社交，即你城市中的居民会影响其他人的城市。游戏中的资源也是相当有限的，你所作的每个决定，每次科技升级都将影响你城市的发展。
EA官方宣布《模拟城市》将回归。游戏目前是以《模拟城市》的代号出现，而非《模拟城市5》，由Maxis负责开发，预计于2013年PC平台推出。EA同时表示开发团队很多成员来自《模拟城市2000》和《模拟城市4》。游戏将使用一款全新的引擎，并首次实现系列全3D。
另外其他要素，比如个体之间的互动，城市的建造力和建筑物的自定义都独具风格，Maxis很好地把握了什么叫做《模拟城市》。而非一款社交游戏，也非Facebook，听起来他们手中的《模拟城市》将会大放异彩。
