Hands and Omens is a modern jazz trio consisting of Helsinki-based musicians. Their debut album Where the Solid Ends is set to release in 2019.

Hands and Omens has operated since the spring 2016. Its members’ musical roots are strongly in the jazz but in their output, there can be heard influences from classical music as well. Above all their music passes on energy and delicate interaction between the musicians as they all support each other. They search for new acoustic sound through freedom and communicative co-play. The stripped-down ensemble is used open-mindedly without ready-made models.

The members have drawn inspiration to their unique compositions from the literary works of Edgar Allan Poe, Daniil Harms and Knut Hamsun.
