《丧尸围城》是CAPCOM公司制作发行的一款丧尸题材的动作游戏。故事讲述了自由记者弗兰克·韦斯特为获得“普利策”奖而进行各种事件的调查，并最终被卷入难以脱身的危险境地，玩家在游戏中要扮演弗兰克，从游戏开始直到救援直升机到来的这72小时内，玩家需要一边击退丧尸一边揭开事件的真相。

游戏采用完全开放式的构架并支持丰富的游戏方式，由于游戏中的时间会不断流逝，因此玩家要抓紧一切机会收集情报，而丧尸也将随着时间的变化而不断增强，比如到了晚上丧尸的力量和速度会大增，使玩家的生存面临更大的挑战。
