Amine Bouhafa meets Katell Quillévéré on this historical and romantic drama after the series “The World of Tomorrow” (2022). A string ensemble plays fully the romantic character of this love story born on a beach in 1947 between the waitress Madeleine (Anaïs Demoustier) and the student François (Vincent Lacoste) while soloists emerge (flute, trumpet, cello, guitars, prepared piano) to represent an underlying secret and buried desires. A theme asserts itself, in different forms, and creates a link between the past and the present, embracing the eras. The plaintive trumpet recalls the tragedy of these characters weighed down by the weight of a troubled past.
