Pianist Alexander Soares has provided a handful of previous recordings including the epic piano sonata by Frank Bridge, the Berg Sonata and the rarely performed Variations by Britten.In this new album releasing in November, Soares traverses a varied programme focusing on British composer Michael Tippett and music by composers who have influenced his style, and a composer who he, in turn, influenced. Performed are Tippett’s sonata No. 4 alongside the 2nd and 4th sonatas by Beethoven and Knussen respectively.
