本作有着浓郁的日式风格，玩家需要控制一位名叫 Red Robin 的女主角在游戏世界中穿行探索。游戏分为两种不同模式，故事模式中女主角要在探索世界的过程中完成一系列的任务，并且藉此得到奖励来强化自身。而在生存模式中，因为它的 Roguelike 玩法，玩家操控的角色一旦死亡，便无法再次复活，因此玩家在遍布危险的地下城中探险时，必须要多加小心。
与一般的RPG游戏相比，《龙翅汤（Dragon Fin Soup）》还加入了战术制定、回合制和动作游戏风格等元素，而原创故事、制造、钓鱼、采集、宠物这些玩法使得游戏具有更加多元化的玩点。
