I thought I would go back in time a little today and pulled up this outstanding Blue Note release that just about knocked my socks off. Jimmy is playing like he was possessed with the beat that some of the original composers probably had in in their soul when it was first scribed. Donald Baily never ceases to amaze and he doesn’t come up short on this event either. The group is playing like it was their last. Nothing but good stuff here.
