《沙因》是一款以神话鬼火为背景的非常具有挑战性的益智解谜游戏。玩家将扮演一个刚刚失去独子的男子，内心痛苦万分地在外面徘徊，无意中误入一片黑暗沼泽，在他找不到出路的时候一个名叫Irrilicht的好心精灵前来帮助了他，陪伴他一起走出沼泽。

在游戏的过程中当Irrilicht发光的时，主角身边环境会发生改变，出现一些新事物、场景（比如新的平台）。在游戏中最重要的东西就是光线，击败野兽，解决谜题以及发现隐藏道路都将利用到光线，玩家要学会使用这种光亮来克服障碍、解决谜题、打败沼泽中的可怕怪物。
