PointWise 17.3 R1

Gridgen前身是美国空军和宇航局出资,由通用动力公司在研制F16战机的过程中于80年代开发的产品。后经美国政府允许, 在1994年Gridgen的编程人员成立了Pointwise公司,推出了商用化的后继产品。Pointwise公司致力于解决工程分析所面对的顶级难题,致力于为CFD计算分析提供高品质的网格,致力于尽可能降低工程师和科研人员的在前处理中时间消耗。

目前公司有两款产品Gridgen和Pointwise。其中,Gridgen是经典的网格生成软件,具有CAD和CFD的良好接口。 Pointwise采用了现代软件核心架构,它继承并凝聚了Gridgen 27年的发展精华,是我们的新一代网格生成软件,Pointwise最新版本为Pointwise V17.1。

PointwiseV17的正式发布,代表着CFD网格技术一个新时代的到来,Pointwise是该公司的旗舰产品,他被认为完全可以替代Gridgen的成熟的Pointwise版本。

Pointwise前所未有地简化网格生成过程,采用标准图形界面,典型的平面菜单结构,标准的键盘热键设计和用户个性化设计使操作更加简便;完全的undo和redo功能,自动装配domain和block,进程条和命令打断功能使应用更轻松;自定义的GUI,多种显示方式,整合和调整网格的高度自动化,极大地减少用户工作量;支持64位,没有了2G内存的限制,可以对超大模型进行网格划分,轻松生成过亿数量网格。

Gridgen/Pointwise 独特优势:

1. T-Rex技术(AIAA paper no. 2007-0554):
T-Rex技术是一项自动划分网格技术,为解决复杂形状几何模型的边界层区域网格划分提供了理想的解决方案,更为尾迹区和其它脱体现象的流动提供了高可信的网格。在2011年3月底发布的V15.17版本中,T-Rex技术得到很大的提高,可在网格中增加支撑挡板,以提高在薄表面或流动特征区域网格的质量。

4.使用双曲PDE和代数拉伸方法可以生成高质量的网格。可以由线拉伸成面网格,由面拉伸成体网格,拉伸可以沿着路径、法向或旋转等,同时可以受限于几何模型/相邻网格等,也可以进行重拉伸操作。

5.Glyph脚本语言可对重复特征自动划分网格,扩展Gridgen,Pointwise的功能,也可进行批处理操作,脚本语言在超大模型设计用户中非常流行。

6. 重叠网格技术可以极大地简化网格的生成,并且在一些特殊应用方面表现出很大的优越性。

7.由底部到顶部的建模思想,易于学习和理解,可以根据自己的使用习惯自定义工具条,省去繁琐步骤。

Pointwise announces the latest release of its computational fluid dynamics (CFD) meshing software featuring direct integration with overset grid assembly (OGA) software.

Overset gridding is a technique that avoids the topological complexity of generating abutting, point-to-point connected, multi-block grids by allowing the component grid blocks to overlap. The price paid for that flexibility is the need to ensure a sufficient degree of overlap so the CFD solver can accurately share data between the component grids. The overlap is computed using overset grid assembly software. Users of OGA software typically rely on a circuitous collection of home-grown tools that are patched together. By integrating OGA (in the form of the PEGASUS and Suggar++ software packages) with Pointwise, the entire process is made more efficient

Other features in Pointwise Version 17.3 R1 include improved support for PLOT3D, ANSYS Fluent, STL, and NX files, a more robust T-Rex, anisotropic tetrahedral extrusion, hybrid mesher, and several user experience enhancements.
