游戏开发商Stardock宣布，他们的最新太空大作《银河文明3》将于5月14日发售，登陆PC平台。根据他们给出的游戏介绍，玩家在《银河文明3》中做出的选择会比可避免的影响文化发展，交易，外交，思想，和邻国的冲突。

“玩家有非常多的工具可以使用，从外交手段到资源交换。游戏中中非常丰富的研究方向，可以引导出种类及其丰富的星际战舰的设计和配置。玩家在行星开发，星站建设，内部谈判，思想意识等等中做出的选择，都会影响银河系的变化。”

该作支持mod开发，玩家们完全没有限制可以制作各种各样的mod来扩展游戏。另外游戏还首次加入了在线多人模式，通过Stardock.net和好友们一起战斗。

《银河文明3》为64位操作系统专用游戏，地图尺寸与视觉效果得到了大幅度进化。在游戏的多玩家模式中，众多的新要素也会加入其中。
