DevOps for Databases

If you’d like a look at the challenges and solutions of incorporating your database into a DevOps software development process, be sure to take this course, which helps you understand the issues around working with various data stores while developing and changing your software at a rapid pace. The course is an abridged version of a more comprehensive one by the same name, DevOps for Databases, now available on edX.org.

Learn where and how databases can fit into DevOps processes, and explore concepts around committing database code to a version control system (VCS), continuous integration, and unit testing database code. Take a look at release management for databases, including release gates, deploying releases to multiple environments, and validating and rolling back deployments. Get details on monitoring database code, cross-databases dependencies, error handling, and much more, in this practical course.

NOTE: The course primarily uses Microsoft SQL Server (with examples tailored to it), but the concepts can be applied other relational or non-relational database platforms.
